Gloc-9 opens "Oktoberfest"
An ambitious light and sound show signaled the opening of the popular local beer festival, “Oktoberfest.”
Sponsored by beer giant, San Miguel Brewery Incorporated, the festivities were held Sept. 10 at the Mall of Asia concert grounds.
Several bands including The Bloom Brothers, The Dawn, Freestyle, Slapshock, Gloc-9 and Parokya ni Edgar joined the celebration, which many Filipinos await with bated breath yearly.
“I always enjoy performing in these kinds of concerts. The crowd is just so into it and I get to enjoy lots of beer, too,” said The Dawn vocalist, Jet Pangan.
Fans at the site enjoyed the free-flowing beer served at discounted rates. All of San Miguel’s winning beer brands--including the limited edition San Miguel “Oktobrew,” the first-ever all-malt, low alcohol beer served around these parts--were made available to all who queued at the venue.
